HerÌýRoyalÌýHighness, The Princess Royal, visited The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ yesterday (12 June) in her role as Chancellor of the University of London to launch the Founders’ Circle, a prestigious new society to recognise benefactors who have made truly outstanding contributions to The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. The Founders’ Circle is named in honour of the institution’s three founders, who established The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ in 1932 through their visionary philanthropy.
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ’s Märit Rausing Director, Professor Deborah Swallow, led HRH on a tour of The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Institute highlighting the many achievements since her last visit in 2008. The ChancellorÌýmet staff and students from across The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ andÌýwas given a presentation on Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Connects, a transformational projectÌýthat will significantly redevelop The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s historic home at Somerset House.ÌýThe Princess Royal also recognised the contribution of several major patrons of The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ who were honoured as inaugural members of the Founders’ Circle.
