Alexandros Antoniou is a Teaching Fellow in Art Law at The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Institute of Art. His research examines the regulation of creativity, commercial communication and digital markets, with particular expertise in issues around harm and offence in media content. He is the Editor of the Research Handbook on Advertising Law (Edward Elgar, 2026) and has published in leading journals several peer-reviewed outputs across media, intellectual property (IP) asset management and digital regulation.
Alexandros’ work has addressed questions including authorship and copyright, trade mark protection, commercial uses of cultural material, influencer advertising and the governance of digital content. He also contributes regularly to policy and professional practice through work with the Council of Europe’s European Audiovisual Observatory, the Online Safety Act Network and sector bodies, translating complex legal developments into practical guidance.
At The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, he brings this background to the study of Art Law, with particular interest in how IP, commercialisation, reputation and digital communication shape the creation, circulation and promotion of cultural works. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has extensive experience teaching IP and Media Law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
